Appointment of New Licensing Agent to act on behalf of BruMusic

BruMusic has authorized Pg Hj Muhammad Hidayatullah Bin Pg Hj Bakar to act on its behalf in all matters pertaining to the licensing of sound recording performance rights entrusted by sound recording right holders to BruMusic for the Territory of Brunei Darussalam effective 1 May 2025.

Music licensing regime is now in place in Brunei

Invited by the Attorney-General's Chambers, IFPI Regional Legal Officer Felix Yuen shared about issues concerning copyright enforcement in the digital environment.  In the Q&A session, Yuen gave an overview of the music licensing regime in Brunei.  BruMusic for record producers is now in partnership with BeAT representing music authors to conduct joint licensing.  The licensing activities of BruMusic commenced and Yuen encouraged users to contact BruMusic for licensing enquiries.
